Day 2 – Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, enjoying a scenic drive through rural landscapes and Maasai countryside before entering the park. Upon arrival, your first full game drive begins across rolling savannah plains scattered with ancient baobab trees and anchored by the life-giving Tarangire River. This permanent water source attracts large elephant herds, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, and a rich variety of birdlife, while predators such as lions and leopards are often encountered along the riverbanks and open grasslands. Your guide will navigate diverse habitats within the park, positioning the vehicle carefully for optimal wildlife viewing and photography, while providing in-depth insights into animal behavior and ecosystem dynamics. A picnic or lodge-served lunch will be enjoyed during the day before continuing with extended afternoon game viewing as wildlife activity increases toward evening.
Dinner and Overnight: Elephant Springs (Full Board)
Day 3 – Ngorongoro Crater
Following an early breakfast, journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, ascending through lush highlands before descending 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife sanctuaries. The crater floor forms a natural enclosure supporting a dense concentration of wildlife year-round, offering exceptional game viewing within a relatively compact area. As you explore the open grasslands, acacia woodlands, and freshwater lakes, you may encounter black rhino, large bull elephants, lion prides, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, and hippos resting in shallow pools. The dramatic backdrop of the crater walls creates a striking setting for wildlife observation and photography. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed within the crater before continuing your afternoon game drive, covering additional habitats before ascending to the rim later in the day.
Dinner and Overnight: Lions Paw (Full Board)
Day 4 – Central Serengeti
After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Highlands, traveling through changing landscapes that gradually open into the vast plains for which the Serengeti is renowned. Wildlife sightings often begin even before reaching the park boundary, as the ecosystem transitions seamlessly into open savannah. Upon entering the Serengeti, an extended afternoon game drive unfolds across sweeping grasslands dotted with granite kopjes and scattered acacia trees. The Central Serengeti, particularly the Seronera region, is known for its year-round water sources and resident wildlife populations, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, and numerous plains species. Your guide will tailor the route according to wildlife movements, ensuring a dynamic and engaging introduction to this iconic landscape before arriving at camp near sunset.
Dinner and Overnight: Sametu Camp (Full Board)
Day 5 – Full Day in Central Serengeti
Today is devoted entirely to exploring the Central Serengeti with an immersive full-day game drive that allows for deeper exploration of the region’s varied habitats. Departing after breakfast, you will traverse open short-grass plains, river valleys, and rocky kopjes where predators often rest or scan for prey. The Seronera area is particularly noted for its high concentration of big cats, and with patience and skilled tracking, sightings of lions, leopards, and cheetahs are common, alongside hyenas, elephants, giraffes, and extensive herds of herbivores. The day unfolds at a relaxed pace, with ample time for wildlife observation, photography, and interpretation from your guide, who will adjust routes according to recent animal activity. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed in the bush before continuing your afternoon game drive, returning to camp in the evening as the plains glow in the late light.
Dinner and Overnight: Sametu Camp (Full Board)
